Two weeks from today it will be Christmas Eve! As you make plans to give gifts, eat special foods and spend time with loved ones, make sure you plan for worship. While cultural traditions are important and fun, worship is essential. Your kids may not be excited about Christmas Eve service this year, but they will be grateful you took them in future years. Make plans now to be at CIL at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 24th. We will sing Christmas carols, I will share a short devotional, and we will take communion. You will be walking out the door by 5:00 p.m., with plenty of time for your Christmas Eve plans. Let’s make Christ the center of our Christmas!  ...

We are having water baptisms this Sunday! When Jesus chose to be baptized in water, He stated that it was necessary to "fulfill all righteousness (Mt. 3:15)." This doesn't mean water baptism saves us, but if we refuse to be baptized in water there is something incomplete in our walk with Christ. Water baptism is an act that God requires of every believer. You never read of an un-baptized Christian anywhere in the Bible. A wedding ring is an outward sign that a person is married. A military uniform is an outward sign that a person serves in a specific branch of the armed forces. Similarly, water baptism is a symbol designed by God to identify a person as a disciple of Jesus Christ. Ultimately, it all goes back to Jesus' statement in John 14:15. "If you love me, keep my commandments." If you want to be baptized this Sunday at CIL click here. If you have any questions...
