CIL supports “Young Life” in Hendersonville

4ca7896a997e94f825429f90_366x275Young Life is an organization reaching high school students who don’t attend church with the gospel message since 1941. Young Life has been in Hendersonville since 2013. The ministry started at Hendersonville High School and will expand to Merrol Hyde this semester!

Our church is a proud monthly supporter of this ministry. Young Life Hendersonville Area Director Daniel Becker and his wife Brittney attend CIL and participate in the Goin 242 Group.

I had the privilege last week of attending the Hendersonville Young Life banquet with some other families from the church. It was such a fun time, and my passion for teenagers was stoked anew. I was involved in Young Life when I was in high school 20 years ago in Texas, and this ministry impacted my friends and me greatly. Take a minute to watch the outstanding video shown at last week’s banquet, and you’ll hear me talk more about what Young Life means to me.

Also, Young Life is still trying to raise money for their very slim budget, so if you want to be an individual supporter, please know your financial support would be a HUGE BLESSING to me, Daniel and the teenagers of Hendersonville. You can make your donation directly to Young Life here.

If you are not out of town for Fall Break, please make an effort to be at church this Sunday as I will be sharing about my trip to India, and continuing our series in Mark 10. Plus, we have 242 Groups scheduled on Sunday evening! It’s going to be a great Sunday, so if you are leaving town, delay your departure for Monday! Ha!

I love serving Jesus with you!

Pastor Aaron’s Trip to India

Be praying for me, as today I leave for India. In an unexpected opportunity, I am going to           preach this weekend in Chennai, India, at a very influential church. The father of CIL attender Ramya Mannar is bringing me to minister at the church he attends, and to experience the  Indian culture. It’s going to be the trip of a lifetime. What a gift!

We have an incredible service planned this Sunday at CIL. Aubrey and Jennifer McGowan are  new  to our congregation, but they have been part of our extended family a long time. The McGowans have been worship leaders for ten years at my home church in Texas, which is one of the fastest growing churches in America. They have moved to Hendersonville to be close to family, which attend CIL. They will be leading worship this Sunday while Beth travels with the Appalachian Mission Team. If you want to get to know Aubrey ahead of time, he is teaching my class tonight at 6:30 p.m.

Deborah '14Pastor Deborah Jackson will be continuing our series in Mark 10 on Sunday, and she always brings an insightful message from Scripture.

As you settle in to bed Saturday night, pray for me, as I will be at the beginning of a day of preaching in India (I’ll be in an area that is 11 hours ahead of Nashville). It’s my privilege to make Jesus known wherever God sends me!

Youth Fall Retreat

fall retreat 14

Greetings to the citizens of CIL,

This is Pastor Matthew Perry Henry Malone the 1st, and I am writing to inform you that we are having a Fall Retreat for our Youth on October 24-26th, at Whispering Pines, in Castalian Springs, TN.

As you are well aware, our students face intense pressure on a consistent basis to conform to the pattern of this world, which is influenced by Satan himself. Every believer in Christ, including myself, needs an opportunity to get away and experience the presence of the LORD. For these students, having an opportunity to experience GOD together is amazing.

I am excited about this year’s retreat, and I want as many students who can participate to come. The theme is “Hold On.” We will be exploring scriptures that will encourage them to hold on and pursue Christ despite their surrounding circumstances.

Thank you for the opportunity to minister to your student. It is what GOD has called me to do.

In Jesus’ name,

Pastor Matt
